Abdul Razzaque Ahmed, MD
A. Razzaque Ahmed, MD, DSc, MPA, FRCP (Edin.) is a dermatologist who is locally and nationally recognized as an expert on blistering diseases. He was trained at the University of Buffalo, UCLA and Harvard. He is uniquely trained for treating blistering diseases, because he is trained in dermatology and oral medicine. He is a Professor of Dermatology at the Tufts University School of Medicine and Director of the Center for Blistering Diseases. Dr. Ahmed is credited with having pioneered the use of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) and rituximab therapy in treating blistering diseases. His uniquely designed protocols have resulted in producing clinical remissions lasting more than 20 years off all therapy. In recognition of his contributions he has received Lifetime Achievement and Research Contribution Awards and Awards for Excellence in the US and many other countries. Dr. Ahmed was born in Hyderabad, India.
